Service rating : everything was easy and straight forward.
Product : only fault was it took over an hour to get a set of towels to our room.

Product : Was staying for a week didn't have a veranda asked to get it changed when arrived had to wait till the next day they were very helpful but could not wait had to small children and would have been to much hassle.

Product : quite tatty and in need of refurbishment small balcony with cheap plastic furniture

Hotel Caribe (Portaventura)
Service rating : I was informed that the theme park was open till midnight and planned my trip around that timing. In fact it was only open till 19.00 which meant that on our arrival at 18.00 we missed a day at the theme park. Had we been aware we would have travelled from Barcelona earlier in the day. Otherwise the booking and hotel were faultless.
Product : Great resort.

Service rating : Very easily and everything was clear and went smoothly
Product : We paid extra to have an adjoining room as the "sleeps four" room was just too small. Once we'd upgraded then it was excellent as having a separate room for our 2 kids was ideal for us.....and them.

Product : Excellent - The hotel, swimming pool, food, and general complex were excellent. The restaurant level of service was very efficient but the bar and reception service levels were poor....either too lengthier a wait (needed more staff on reception) or sometimes felt you were served when it suited the staff, especially in the bar.
Poor - We paid extra when we got there for an adjoining room as the "sleep four" room was very cramped.
With 2 small kids we all benefited when we got the extra room.

Product : Staff friendly, and hotel very tidy. Only issues were stair ways floor tiles very dirty sticky unpleasant to walk on and they did not change bed linen once during stay I know I had surgery before trip which bleed on first night only and our bed linen had my blood on it all week still very thing else in hotel was very good
Hotel El Paso (PortAventura)
Service rating : no complaints on the booking process clear and simple. Only downside was that I was not sent the voucher for the hotel of hotel transfer. Which became awkward to explain to people with little English language skills. Also we were greeted with a bill for tourism tax of €12, which again after paying for an all-inclusive holiday was not made aware that this was coming.
Product : Excellent facilities and fully deserving of the 4 start rating. The only negatives we can suggest to help improvements as we have been there 3 times now is that alot of the previous additions like free entry to water park and visit to private beach and more shows in the evening, all these things have dissapeared but without seeing any reduction in the cost.
On the last visit end of May the water in the pool was constantly freezing and resulted in me only going in the pool once with the kids as it was unbareable. I found that this was the same in the water park.. Why has the water not got any sort of heating to it anymore? Also, the evening entertainment at Hotel El Paso has always been its weak point. Would it not be beneficial to provide a little more family orientated entertainment for the evening?Kareoke?

Thank you very much for taking the time to respond. Having checked your holiday documents it seems for some reason that the transfer voucher wasn't sent and for that we apologise. In regards to the tourist tax this was introduced in late 2012 and is stated on your hotel voucher which was sent out to you.

Service rating : I booked directly with Portaventura,very easy even though i made adjustments
Product : Accomodation was big enough for 3 adults,it was chilly but was given extra blankets very quickly.

Service rating : Easy and simple, only change that was disappointing from previous visits was the pick up from airport took 4 hours to get from outside airport to resort !!!
Product : Clean and tidy accomodation with good regular maintenance.

Service rating : Very easy and efficient.
Product : Very spacious room and professional and friendly staff. However, walls were very thin and outside noise both from corridor and other rooms was easily heard.

Hotel El Paso (PortAventura)
Service rating : Had to pay more for flights than orginal booking. Paid extra for quad rom so we would get more beds allocated a standard room with two standard doubles. Not suitable for 3 generational holiday.
Product : Not 4*rooms they are fairly basic. No fridge or provision to make drinks in rom. Towels are small bath sheets. Beach towels ok but not changed or at least we didnt figure out how to do this. Entertainment ok for little kids but evening only. Nothing included for older kids evening or day. All inclusive not bad included premi ice cream and cava however vitually not hot food for vegetarians

Thank you very much for your comments. We are sorry to hear that your flight price increased, this can happen occasionally at the time of booking as we work from a live system and therefore prices can fluctuate during the booking process. All rooms at the El Paso sleep four people, either in two double beds or a double bed and bunk beds. Unfortunately no requests for specific bed types were made at the time of booking.
As the hotel is all inclusive they do not offer tea or coffee making facilities in the room. Beach towels can be changed by leaving used towels in the bath, as per the notice in the bathroom.
I do hope that you still managed to enjoy your stay at PortAventura and enjoyed the theme park too.

Hotel El Paso (PortAventura)
Service rating : We had used the PortAventura UK agent to book a holiday to Hotel Carribe 4 years ago and were very satisfied. This time the experience was not as enjoyable and was more remote. It lacked the personal informative touch. The 'private taxi' experience to and from the airport was awful. It was frantic and I was told by the hotel I was not even on the list to be collected. To say I panicked when the taxi showed up late is an understatement. The friends we traveled with at our recommendation enjoyed a much better experience during both the airport collection and return. The vehicle that picked them up had room for us all but refused to take us although we had booked together and asked that our bookings be 'linked'. We had to wait another 20 minutes for a private car to pick us up. NOT HAPPY
Product : The hotel was clean and very well maintained. We enjoyed it better than the Carribe. The food was excellent and the staff very patient and accomodating even when under pressure. Only fault with this hotel was the room. How can you expect a family of 4 (2 parents and 2 teenage children) to use only 2 beds? having to share like this was wrong and uncomfortable. Sadly I will not be recommending this hotel on this basis. I asked if this hotel offered more spacious and comfortable rooms (at a price) but I was told no by the hotel desk. I suspect this was a lie (I saw what appeared to be a larger room) For this reason I will refuse to return and will not recommend this holiday or agent because of the restricted options.

Thank your very much for taking the time to comment. I am sorry to hear that you weren't happy with the private transfer experience. Unfortunately, although your bookings were linked, two separate transfers were booked and therefore you were unable to travel together for insurance / safety purposes.
In terms of the rooms, the hotel are correct that they do not offer bigger rooms. All rooms in the hotel are standard rooms sleeping up to four people in either two double beds or a double bed and bunk beds. Interconnecting rooms are available but these comprise of two standard rooms with a doorway in between and are charged as two standard rooms.
I am sorry you feel that you can not book with us or the park again.

Product : Beds hard. No night time entertainment. Location was good.

The hotel operates a mini disco for children which usually starts around 7-8pm in the evening. On occasions if there aren't enough participants this may be cancelled or not operate so I do apologise if this was the case.

Hotel Estival Park
Service rating : Overall good, except accommodation. Organisation was good, everything on time, flights not great but you get what you pay for and FR are awful, so pleased we booked a private transfer which was great. No problems with theme park tickets either.
Product : This hotel should only be offered to UK based clients on an AI basis, travelling with a family with children was really difficult on HB as it was difficult to buy additional food and there was food everywhere which was not allowed for our children, in general the hotel was not not good, staff very rude as we're a lot of the residents. The dining room was not big enough to cope with the number of people and queuing was normal......just awful !!!. I would suggest that this hotel is left to First Choice AI clients, it was no where near a 4 star, I suspect the spa is the factor to why they receive this rating, the spa itself was lovely and a welcome break from the mass of AI guests!! I would never return or recommend and we are a family of 5 with 3 children ourselves, way too many families, pushchairs and not very pleasant people.

The hotel is one of our more popular off-site hotels so we are surprised to hear that you didn't enjoy it. As you say the hotel does offer various options from bed and breakfast to all inclusive, giving guests the option to choose which one is most suitable for them. Obviously with this being a PortAventura Holiday, guests would not be able to make the most of the All Inclusive if they are out visiting the theme park during the day and as such has never proved to be a popular option. If you prefer all inclusive we would recommend the Hotel El Paso which is a PortAventura Onsite hotel for your next visit.

Service rating : Did it through the telephone service and all quick and easy
Product : Great location with lovely surroundings - the rooms are ok. We could easily walk to the parks or into salou. The cleaning standards in the room were poor. The breakfast buffet was good although our whole stay was tarnished by the arrival of hundreds of school children which turned the resort into a playground with little consideration for the other guests

Service rating : Easy to navigate - clear website. Would have liked more detail on the hotels
Product : Breakfast could have been better - cooked food oily and fruit unripe. Crowds of school kids dominated the last two days and gave us a disturbed night. Staff around the place could and friendly
